Sigh...
Failed 2 modules. One of them is Semiconductor Technology. The other is Motion Control. All this while I thought Motion Control was a core module for Automation students since it has got nothing to do with my specialization which is Wafer Fabrication. In the end, I found out it is a PE(Prescribed Elective).
Fuck.
My day just couldn't get any worse than this. Now feeling kind of demoralized. Seriously I hate that Motion Control module. Anyway, enough of this. The thought of it just wanna make me throw up.
Yesterday night, I spent quite a long time with my brother trading un-armed combat techniques. Since he was from SOC(Special Operations Command), I thought I could pick up some new skills. In fact, the 'trading' session was fruitful. Not only do I learnt something, he did too. We came up with different scenarios and discussed ways to handle the situation with ease and... a bit of violence. All in all, we spent 5 hours talking outside the corridor plus doing the un-armed combat stuff. We discussed on how to disarm knives, machetes or parang, etc. All of this I learnt from watching this particular Silat video at YouTube. And I must say, it is very very effective. Why? Because I've tried it and it worked! I was more to finishing the assailant off by killing. On the other hand, my brother was inclined to subdue the assailant by using brute force. He did it on me and it was bloody painful. Thus the saying, no pain no gain.
Why am I suddenly interested in Silat?
It's mainly because it's very effective and all the 'jurus' and 'buah' have its effective application. You'll notice that the word 'effective' will appear more than twice in a sentence or throughout the whole paragraph. Silat is really EFFECTIVE. I don't mind learning other martial arts as long as I find it effective. Sooner or later, I'll lose my Taekwondo foundation. This I can assure. And learning Silat through YouTube(I've yet to learn Silat from a teacher) was an eye-opener. I learn how to disarm knives, using the weapon against its user and many more. From there, I try to fuse Aikido techniques with Silat and see whether it can be really applied.
My didi, Jasper, said using knife or, in general, weapons is kind of "dirty". What he didn't know that weapon is actually an extension of your own. It's just an added reach. This I learnt from my Aikido sensei. On top of that, you wouldn't know what your assailant is up to. Killed or be killed. Even Bruce Lee's have a set of kicks that goes to the groin! So, saying that some techniques are "dirty" without any concrete proof is simply bullshit.
I can really go on and on about this.
I better stop here.
